For more details on the use of these data, please refer to CPD Notice 24-04.<\/SPAN><\/P><P><SPAN>These data provide estimated counts of persons based on their family income as either:<\/SPAN><\/P><UL><LI><P><SPAN STYLE=\"font-weight:bold;\">Low:<\/SPAN><SPAN> at or below 50% of the area median income AMI, <\/SPAN><\/P><\/LI><LI><P><SPAN STYLE=\"font-weight:bold;\">LowMod:<\/SPAN><SPAN> at or below 80% of AMI, and <\/SPAN><\/P><\/LI><LI><P><SPAN STYLE=\"font-weight:bold;\">LMMI:<\/SPAN><SPAN> at or below 120% of AMI (just for the NSP program)<\/SPAN><\/P><\/LI><\/UL><P><SPAN STYLE=\"font-weight:bold;\">Calculating LMI % <\/SPAN><SPAN>= (LOWMOD Data Field (# LMI Persons) Geography A + LOWMOD Data Field (# LMI Persons) Geography B + LOWMOD Data Field (# LMI Persons) Geography C\u2026) ÷  (LOWMODUNIV Data Field (LMI Universe) Geography A + LOWMODUNIV Data Field (LMI Universe) Geography B + LOWMODUNIV (LMI Universe) Geography C\u2026)<\/SPAN><\/P><P><SPAN>*If exporting the csv file to Excel, the overall LMI percentage function would be =sum(lowmod)/sum(lowmoduniv)<\/SPAN><\/P><P><SPAN STYLE=\"font-weight:bold;\">Margin of Error<\/SPAN><\/P><P><SPAN>The MOE does NOT provide an expanded range for compliance. For example, a service area of 50 percent LMI with a 2 percent MOE would still be just 50 percent LMI for compliance purposes. However, the 2 percent MOE would inform the grantee about the accuracy of the ACS data before undergoing the effort and cost of conducting a local income survey.
