Description: On August 8, 2017, the Buena Park City Council adopted an ordinance for a "Street Cut Moratorium" in the City of Buena Park. This ordinance is designed to help keep streets in good condition for longer periods of time. It does this by restricting excavation work on streets that have recently been paved. In an emergency, the work would still be allowed, but the ordinance also set stricter paving guidelines that the contractor must follow when they repair their excavations. No permit allowing cutting into a public street will be issued for any street that has been paved, constructed, or reconstructed within the preceding 5 years. No permit allowing cutting into a public street will be issued for any street that has been resurfaced within the preceding 2 years. Emergency exemptions may be issued by the Director of Public Works, however, these exemptions shall be subject to enhanced restoration requirements.
